MILL STREET LOFTS
On land immediately west of its Biscuit Company Lofts, Linear City developed unrealized plans to build a LEED-certified, new construction sixteen story Type 1 tower of 107 live/work loft condominiums with a restaurant, and a hybrid conversion and new construction four story live/work building with townhouses over retail.

The Mill tower sits on grade and faces the downtown skyline view, head on. Visitors to the Mill tower pass through an antique masonry façade (framing a street life that skips the 20th century as it transitions from the 19th to the 21st, as well as an entrance courtyard) as they approach the nearly double height variegated concrete and glass entrance. The Industrial Lofts proceed east along Industrial Street, and bracket at the rear the communal recreational greenscape and amenities of the Biscuit, Mill and Industrial buildings.  The greenspace features recycled brick from the old Biscuit bakery and knits together the very different Biscuit, Industrial and Mill buildings.  Parking is in a stand alone three story semi-subterranean structure on the other side of the recreational area.

Natural light, natural ventilation, exposed structure and mechanical systems, double high volumes, diversity of unit shapes and sizes, private and shared outdoor space to engage the gentle climate, a high efficiency of sellable space, environmental stewardship ~ these principles infuse the Mill and Industrial buildings with progressive, optimistic profiles.  Almost the entireties of both buildings are single-loaded with private patios and head on downtown skyline views.
